Statement of faith regarding marriage

Family Experience Ministries believes that from the onset of creation, God ordained the marriage covenant to be a bond only between a man and a woman. This belief is based upon the teachings of the Holy Scriptures.

However, since the fall of man, changing cultures and secular legal perspectives have differed from God’s ordinances. One such perspective is the 2015 Supreme Court of the United States 5-4 ruling that legalized same-sex marriage in the United States.
As a Biblically based organization established within the boundaries of the United States, Family Experience Ministries maintains the Biblical view of marriage, and holds that position firmly not only as a Biblical truth, but also legally under the first amendment of the United States Constitution, which states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”

The free exercise of our faith in this matter encumbers no obligation on anyone, and therefore remains a natural, inalienable right.

Although same-sex marriage has been declared legal by the US Supreme Court, Family Experience Ministries does not regard it to be in keeping with God’s intentions for marriage, and under the principles set forth by God as well as the free exercise clause of the US Constitution, we declare the following:
  • We will continue to teach that God ordains marriage to be only between a man and a woman.
  • Because we do not perform weddings, we remain under no obligation to officiate or host a same-sex union.
  • Because we are a ministry to families, we will prayerfully, respectfully, and politely ask any couple in attendance at our fellowship that is not married in the Biblical definition of a man and a woman to not attend our fellowship.  This standard applies equally to male/female couples that are living together but are not married.
Any disregarding of our requests in these matters or any outbursts and/or comments of disrespect as a result of our request will be considered harassment. Family Experience Ministries does not seek confrontation, only the peace that comes through Jesus Christ, who came in the flesh to save mankind from their sins.

Family Experience Ministries makes this statement under the supreme authority of God, and also using the free exercise of our religion and the freedom of speech guaranteed in the US Constitution.
